Recession Chic

Alexander McQueen + Target

Matthew Williamson + H&M

Fashion designers are crossing over to design for high street labels. Stella McCartney, Emilio Pucci, and many more. This not only make top notch designs more affordable, it adds more variety to the high street labels. wooo. I can't wait for H&M to come to Singapore!

And if you are like me, still having not enough money to buy the stuffs above, H&M, Topshop etc. are selling really nice clothes too.

And, if you still can't afford those, it's time for online spree! Like the H&M black oxford heels below is being sold at http://shoptisserendipity.blogspot.com/. Really loved it. But just that it's not my size.

Break Away

All those GSS are killing me. I'm seriously broke.
Have been buying lots of bangles. And I bought one headband too! And lots and lots of clothings.
I should start finding jobs instead of going into shopping malls.
zzz
Anyway, good buys at Zara and Mango now. Go catch them before you missed it!
I bought a small leather sling bag at Zara. For $59! Original price is $129!! Super good buy. I am so so happy now. But my wallet is not.

Straw Fedora

I'm so in love with straw fedora! Been looking for one since this summer, but I still can't find any that suit me!!
love this J. Crew dress
linen + straw fedora! cool huh

fedora just makes the summer dress looks cool. and the gladiator sandals (Matt Bernson KM)are just so gorgeous.
love the blue flocks minidress by Ella Moss Black Label Clara. I saw a similar one in Island Shop at Raffles City, a white dress with geometrical flowy bottoms. And omg, I wanna buy it! But it's so ex. Wonder whether there's any GSS on that.

Introducing Jason Wu

It's probably after the inauguration gown that Michelle Obama worn when everyone started asking who Jason Wu is. He's a Taiwan born fashion designer. (Everyone in Taiwan must be very proud of him. And I'm proud to say that I'm half Taiwan too.) Below are some of his Spring 2009 collection. I love the way he play with elegant, flowy dresses and belting them up. Just gorgeous.

Who say eco cannot be chic?

I was watching "The 11th hour" just now, and I thought, the Earth is deteriorating so much yet we are doing so little. The damages are visible. It's not like one leaf has withered. It's the entire rain forest. Yet, due to economic growth, we neglected our Earth. We yearned for more energy, but we failed to see what we had generated on the other side of the pump. It's really saddening.

Probably fashion can do a part in saving the world. Eco friendly clothes are in demand now. As said, " Green is the new Black." For example, the line of clothes from Bodkin are made from organic fibres like corn and bamboo. Dyes are extracted from fruits and not chemical. And the main thing is, it's chic. But just (and a little bit of emphasis) a little bit too ex. It really takes time for the people to realise the importance of changing the way they dress, eat, and transport to save Earth. But unlike human rights where we can have 100 years to fight for, we don't have that much time for Earth.

So do the green thing now.

Nutella-ella-ella-eh-eh?

Nutella-ella-ella. A word inspired by my friend who has a craving for Nutella ice cream.
No, this is not a blog about food.
It's about fashion.
